The Position:
You’ll report to the Director of Development, working in a varied role that includes functional analysis, architecture, design, development and development testing. You’ll help make our customers successful.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop React/Redux and .NET API web applications meeting our customers’ needs.
- Maintain and enhance ASP.NET web applications meeting our customers’ needs.
- Work on a big part of our product life cycle – from functional analysis and design through development testing – in a collaborative team environment.
- Help us leverage technologies and best practices to deliver valuable products.
Your Experience:
- 3+ years’ experience in software product development
- Web application / REST API development
- Experience developing with React, Redux, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- Experience with the Microsoft stack: SQL Server, IIS, .NET Framework, .NET Core / .NET 6.0
- Experience with Git
- Experience with Agile Methodologies: Scrum
- A university degree or diploma in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience

Financial Controller

The Position:
Equicare is looking for a Financial Controller. Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in managing all aspects of the accounting function. In this role you will work closely with the CEO to deliver timely and accurate financial reporting and management of cash flow.
Responsibilities:
- Perform full cycle accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and bank reconciliations,
- Prepare the annual budget and update the forecast throughout the fiscal year,
- Monitor day to day cash flow and provide timely forecasts to management,
- Complete responsibility for quarterly and year end reporting in accordance with US GAAP,
- Weekly presentations to Management regarding financial results and cash flow,
- Quarterly presentations to Board of Directors of financial results and cash flow,
- Manage year end audit and liaise with auditors,
- Ensure best practices in key processes and internal controls are continuously implemented,
- Manage and comply with provincial and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings,
- Human Resources activities including tracking of employee vacation days and sick days along with processing of required documentation for new and former employees,
- Perform other projects and duties as required.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- CPA designation with at least 3-5 years of experience in a senior role within an accounting team,
- Knowledge in QuickBooks Online is preferred,
- Strong oral and written communication skills,
- Strong independent thinker,
- Ability to produce accurate and timely reporting of financial data,
- Knowledge in all areas of accounting, treasury, payroll, and tax compliance,
- Experience with cash flow management is an asset,
- Ability to think outside the box,
- Familiarity with Salesforce and SaaSOptics is a bonus.
