New Navigation functionality in Equicare CS meets American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC) Requirements for Cancer Care Center Accreditation
Vancouver, BC – June 13, 2013 – Equicare Health Inc, the leading provider of care coordination software announces the launch of support for Navigation in Version 4.0 release of its industry leading Cancer Survivorship software tool, Equicare CS. The process of Navigation assists patients by helping them move through the health care system in the manner in which care is needed, and has been shown to improve clinical outcomes by ensuring patients receive follow up care in a timely manner, as well as facilitating better quality of life post-treatment. Equicare’s Navigation tools can be seamlessly integrated into existing Oncology Information Systems, and provide compliance with the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC), which requires Institutions provide a formal Navigation system by 2015.
Equicare CS set the standard for survivorship care management with its debut in 2007, and Navigation tools now complement the existing solution with added functionality for Navigators. Through HL-7 interfaces and a proprietary link into the ARIA and Mosaiq OIS systems, Navigation provides access to patient medical information, demographics, and other data in a single location. Navigators can document all of their work in Equicare CS, measure the amount of time spent on tasks, and generate reports on activity to show the value that navigators can bring to an organization. Additionally, a secure online patient portal gives patients access to treatment information, appointment schedules, and up to date clinical information on symptoms and treatments.
