Please join us in welcoming the newest member of the Equicare team, Michelle Hutchings-Medina, Sales Manager for MidWestern USA. With 23 years of experience in the field of oncology, Michelle brings great depth of expertise and knowledge to hospitals and cancer centers through the MidWest. Get to know Michelle a bit better in the Q&A:
What was your first job?
In high school, I worked as a cashier in a mini-market/gas station. It was cool and quite a big deal to have my own money!
What are you most proud of in your career so far?
Twenty-three years after completing my radiation therapy education, I still enjoy the specialty. I’ve had the opportunity to have had varied careers within the field and have enjoyed them all. Staying relevant.
What are you most looking forward to working on at Equicare?
Being back in touch with clients in the Midwest. Offering them a solution that will change not just their oncology practice, but the lives of their patients. I know many cancer survivors and have discussed the software Equicare offers; they all have acknowledged what a difference it would have made in their lives if something like this had been available when they underwent treatment.
What do you think of the state of the Healthcare IT industry and how it relates to oncology?
It’s an exciting time for Healthcare IT. The demands for benchmarking, quality, and care coordination are finally trending in oncology. Despite our highly technical and precise field, we have been one of the last specialties to leverage the data with high touch to providers, payers, & patients.
What are you reading right now?
“The Source of My Strength” by Charles Stanley
You need to go on holiday tomorrow- where would you go?
Greece or Italy. Really want to experience the Greek Islands, The Amalfi Coast & Positano.
What would you eat for your last meal on earth?
A huge grilled whole fish like red snapper, a simple salad, & great bread & wine.
Want to speak to Michelle about advancing health care technology, or just discuss the joys of a Greek holiday? She’d love to hear from you at firstname.lastname@example.org.View comments »
