Greg is an accomplished business leader, entrepreneur, angel investor, and corporate director specifically with technology companies. He specializes in creating customer-centric and operationally-focused corporate cultures transforming early-stage companies from R&D organizations to viable commercial enterprises. While CEO at A.L.I. Technologies, he grew the business from 14 to 400 employees and over $100 million in annual revenues resulting in a sale to McKesson Corp. in 2002 for $526 million in cash, marking one of the most important transactions in the image management market. After joining McKesson to head their Medical Imaging Group, he grew annual revenues 200% over two years to $100 million, entirely through internally-generated growth. In 2002, Greg was recognized as Ernst & Young’s Pacific Entrepreneur of the Year; in 2007, appointed “Person of the Year” by the B.C. Technology Industry Association; and in 2013 selected as Angel Investor of the Year by the Vancouver Angel Forum. He currently serves on a number of company Boards, is Co-Chair of the B.C. Premier’s Technology Council, and serves on the Board of Governors of the University of British Columbia (ranked among the top 30 in the world).
President & CEO
A long time entrepreneur, Len Grenier was a co-founder of ALI in 1986 and a Director for the early development of the company. He held the senior technical role from inception of the company through its acquisition in July 2002 by McKesson Inc. Len’s most recent role at ALI was Senior Vice President of Engineering and Chief Technology Officer. As well, his responsibilities included Inbound Product Management and Regulatory Affairs. Mr. Grenier brings a wealth of experience in the development of medical software companies providing multi-facility integrated solutions in a regulated environment. Len assumed the role of President and CEO of Equicare Health in April 2006.
VP of Product Management
Malcolm Wright joined Equicare Health in October 2005 and currently serves as VP of Product Management. Prior to joining Equicare, Mr. Wright served as VP of Product Management with Source Medical Solutions, the leading provider of outpatient medical information system in the United States. In this role Mr. Wright oversaw the commercialization, product planning and product definition for TherapySource, a suite of clinical products used by 30% of outpatient rehabilitation providers in the U.S. Mr Wright has over 20 years of expertise in technical and product management roles, and experience in a variety sectors including Electric Utility, Medical Laboratory and the Federal Government. He holds a Diploma of Technology (Honours) from the British Columbia Institute of Technology as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science (Honours) from the University of British Columbia.
VP of Operations
Rudy Grant joined Equicare in 2012, bringing with him over 15 years of expertise in business operations management in the medical imaging sector. Prior to joining Equicare, he served as Director of Business Operations at McKesson Medical Imaging, a leading provider of radiology and cardiology information systems. At McKesson Mr. Grant managed operational revenues of over $100 million, and was involved in the acquisition and implementation of several national level, multi-million dollar contracts. Mr. Grant currently manages all facets of Equicare’s operations including business processes, system installation, and the ongoing care of Equicare’s growing customer base.
VP of Sales
Margaret Nash has over 20 years of expertise in sales and management in the fields of medical imaging and oncology and brings to Equicare a rich set of strategic sales and negotiating skills. Prior to joining Equicare in 2013, Ms. Nash served in several Sales Management roles, including 8 years with Varian Medical Systems in various roles including Regional Sales Director. Through the course of her oncology career, she has been successful in assisting and bringing resources together for hospitals and oncology centers to develop new radiation oncology services for their communities. During her tenure at Varian, she managed over $150 million in revenue, exceeding her targets each year, and achieving Varian’s “Region of the year” in 2003, 2004 and 2006. Ms. Nash currently manages Equicare’s growing direct sales team, and is involved in all facets of the sales development process. Ms. Nash majored in political science and business administration from Kent State and Upper Iowa University.
VP of Strategy and Business Development
Betsabeh Madani’s professional focus is centered on creating mutually beneficial business partnerships leading the next wave of innovation from R&D to commercialization. In her current role, she oversees Equicare Health’s growth strategies and the global Go-to-Market implementation across new verticals. Previously at Cerner Corporation, she navigated cross-functional collaborations within the healthcare delivery arena. Betsabeh’s career spans start-up biotechnology companies, management consulting with the Boston Consulting Group, and implementing public-private partnerships at Mitacs Inc. She has served on a number of boards including the BC Ministry of Education’s year of science program committee. Betsabeh holds Honors Bachelors in Physics and in Biochemistry from the University of Victoria, a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from The University of British Columbia, and a Masters in Business Administration from Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business.
Marketing Communications Manager
Rachel Richardson joined Equicare in 2013, bringing with her a depth of experience managing brands for organizations in the software, biotechnology and telecommunications sectors. Throughout her career she has developed and implemented strategies to successfully improve brand awareness and product adoption to positively influence sales & revenue. She currently oversees all aspects of Equicare’s brand strategy, communications and public relations programs. Rachel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Simon Fraser University and a Post-baccalaureate diploma in Commerce from Thompson Rivers University.
